Pep Talk :)

I’m cheering for you!

Hello beautiful people and welcome to this dose of Celestial Goodness. As always, thank you for joining me in this space and on this journey. See this week’s video here:

Last week was a very busy week, and I don’t see this week being any different, however, I do have one thing that will greatly help with the week ahead. No, it is not endless meeting cancellations, or a magical wand to make all my work disappear or even better a wand that completed all the things on my to do list haha, but it is something that I think will help me immensely.

One day last week when I felt a little overwhelmed by my own to do list, and I love to make them, one of my friends sent me a Tik Tok video. For the record, I am not on Tik Tok lol, but a bunch of my friends, and they know who they are, love Tik Tok, so I get a steady stream of good videos. Admittedly, some of them are pretty hilarious, and others well, they are pretty inspirational. In this one, the “Tik Tokker” had this magnificent voice, and he said, this is a reminder that you are flipping awesome, you go out into the big wide world and find majesty and awesomeness. He said that if you find yourself being down on yourself and doubting how amazing you are, close your eyes, take three deep breaths, and realize that you are awesome.

It is amazing just how hearing those words can fill you with a sense of yes, yes, I am awesome, and yes, I can do this life thing. I think most of us are also familiar with vegan super star, Tabitha Brown, who has one of the most soothing voices on the planet. There are people out there on the planet right now who can soothe our spirit and our very soul with their presence and their words, and we are filled with gratitude for these lovely souls… but guess what?

We can also do that for ourselves. Yes, sometimes we have to give ourselves a pep talk. Sometimes we can be right in the midst of a mini storm or mini fire that needs to be put out, and we wonder, how am I going to do all of these things? Doubt can set in, and we might think we aren’t cut out to do something that we are very capable of doing. In these times, we need a pep talk.

I also think of Halls, and the brilliant marketing that they did for their cough drops. They called it a pep talk on every wrapper. Some examples were,

“Conquer today.

 You’ve survived tougher.

Don’t waste a precious minute.

Let’s hear your battle cry.

You can do it and you know it.

Don’t give up on yourself.”

I also think we can give ourselves a soothing pep talk before we even get to any of the more stressful points in our lives. I do remember talking to my former therapist, Alfonso, and he told me that some people refused to get “welmed,” let alone overwhelmed.

So sometimes the best time to give yourself a pep talk is before things get overwhelming. I might even go as far as encouraging you dear spirit to speak kindly to yourself each day. How amazing would it be if when we got up in the mornings, if we looked in the mirror and with every single fiber of our being said, “You got this!” Yes, you got this whole day, whatever comes—good or otherwise.

What if you got up each day and said, I am wiser today than I have ever been, I have more experience at life than I have ever had, and I truly deserve to be here on Earth today and every day. What if you realized that even though you have things that you consider weaknesses—and we will say, “things that you were working to develop,” that you also have your strengths. You have qualities that others admire, and even if you don’t know it, someone out there thinks you are the best thing since sliced bread. Essentially, even if no one claps for you every day, you amazing, brilliant, and capable. Christopher Robin said to Winnie Pooh and crew, ““You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” (by A. A. Milne)

That is the energy that I want you take into this week.

Look at how far you have come on the journey of life? Yes, you still have additional distance to cover, but don’t discount how many strides and steps you have taken to get here.

Look at all of the amazing things that have aligned for you to be where you are right at this moment. Look at the work that you put in, the effort, the sweat, the tears, and even if you didn’t you don’t have to actually do anything to deserve love and to be amazing, but if you did, if you were in the ring of life fighting, then please take some credit for your victories. Even moments that felt like failures added to future victories so treasure them too.

In the book Warrior of Light, Paulo Coelho says, “the warrior of light…accepts defeat as defeat and does not try to make a victory out of it, painful wounds, the indifference of friends, the loneliness or losing—all leave a bitter taste. But at these times, he says to himself…I fought for something and did not succeed. I lost the first battle. These words give him renewed strength. He knows that no one wins all the time, and he knows how to distinguish his successes from his failures.” I think it is important to highlight this. You won’t win all the time, but at least you tried something, and you can try again!

You got this!

So this week, whatever comes, you will say:

Today will be a good day, this will be a good week. I feel grateful for the experience of being alive. I am getting healthier each day. I am growing and evolving into even more of the person that I want to be. I forgive myself for doubting my capabilities. I forgive myself for speaking harshly to myself. I am brilliant, I am amazing, I am capable, I am sure of myself, I am successful, I am confident, I am powerful, I am getting better and better each day, I am getting wiser and wiser, I am an unstoppable force of nature, I have everything that I need within me, and I am pure awesomeness. I am kind, I am powerful, I am intelligent, and things can go well. I want you to say this and to mean it. Say it as many time as you need to believe it. Tell the people around you that they are awesome too. They say that a butterfly can’t see its own colors. It can’t see how beautiful it is—so if you see someone in your life who is like a beautiful butterfly, don’t be afraid to share the awesomeness. Compliment them and watch their sunshine pour out. People need reminders of their amazingness, and we should not hold that back from each other.

Let our your inner wolf 🐺

You got this! So this is the pep talk for the week ahead. May the stars shine brightly over your week, and may it be a week in which you remember and know with certainty that you are a magnificent, majestic, amazing, vibrant, spirit having a human experience. May it be an amazing week indeed. Ciao.
